Car Carpet Detailing

Car Carpet Detailing

The first advice Overland Carwash would give to any car owner regarding Car Carpet Detailing is to regularly clean your cars interior and not only when accidents happen. Accidents do happen and clean-ups can be messy. But for the average car owner there are 2 types of carpet detailing or cleaning that needs to be considered; Cleaning Dry Soil and Cleaning Moist Soil.

To clean your cars carpet for dry soil a vacuum cleaner is often more than enough. Sometimes a brush might help as well depending on what you are cleaning. This practice should be regular to help maintain your cars interior younger and simply nicer.
As simple as cleaning dry soil from your cars carpet is, cleaning moist soil is excruciating and time consuming. Whether its the mud from the kids cleats, soda or coffee stain or heavy rain that caused the all the mess, moist soil is no fun for anyone.
For a successful car carpet detailing start out with a small orbital tool and a terry bonnet or anything that could be used as a substitute. If you are confused at this point and wondering as to why you would need the same orbital used to apply and remove wax on a car exterior, do not worry. The same orbital used for car waxing works perfectly fine for carpet cleaning and is often much friendlier to the carpet than many bristle brushes. Moving on, start by thoroughly vacuuming the carpet. Once the carpet is void of any dry soil spray the carpet lightly with the carpet cleaner and buff until the moist soil starts dissolving and is removed. As you are cleaning the carpet the bonnet will become dirty, simply turn it over and continue the process. This technique of cleaning and detailing your car carpet avoids heavy use of water and the further wet soaking of the carpet. Once you are satisfied with the results simply let the carpets air out for some time and after that you are done.
